NOVICE COLLECTORS

Congratulations on your choice of a fascinating and exciting hobby. Shell collecting can take you to all corners of the globe and you now have the chance to meet some great people from all walks of life who also love these "gems from the sea."

I have lower priced specimens available in most families for the new collector. Please enquire if you are looking for a particular specimen but dont want to pay full price for a perfect shell.

I have starter kits available for beginner collectors from $50. You can nominate a specific family or I can supply a general collection comprising a number of families.

I recommend "Compendium of Seashells" by Tucker Abbott and Peter Dance as the best shell book for beginners. It has a comprehensive listing of most families and the color photos are of good quality allowing easy identification of most shells. A "Compendium of Landshells" is also available of similar quality.

Please choose and click on a shell family or other site pages.
